Lady Gaga And ‘A Star Is Born’ Lead The Pack In Golden Globe Nominations

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association unveiled this year’s list of Golden Globe nominees, and there’s something for everyone as popular films like A Star Is Borngrabbed a few nods.

Vice, the biopic of former Vice President Dick Cheney starring Christian Bale, earned the most nominations in film categories with six, followed by contenders like The FavouriteGreen Book, and A Star Is Born with five apiece.

And performances audiences raved about this year, from Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody to Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born, were rewarded with acting nominations.

Cooper could be on his feet all night, since he’s up for three awards as an actor, director, and because A Star Is Born is nominated for the top prize in its category. He might even take to the stage to perform, since his song “Shallow” with Lady Gaga was also nominated for Best Original Song.

In the television categories, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story earned four nominations, competing with the HBO series Sharp Objects in the category for a limited series or TV movie.

The Good Place’ and its star Kristen Bell are both up for awards.

Meanwhile, foreign hits including Bodyguard and Killing Eve will face off in the Best Drama category.

It was also a particularly good year for TV revivals, as Candice Bergen and Debra Messing earned acting nominations for their returns on Murphy Brown and Will and Gracerespectively.
